I'm a broadcast network engineer: RF and IT, transmitters and networks, the whole signal chain. Knowing exactly how these systems get built and kept running is precisely why I don't trust the ones that won't let you own anything anymore.

This show is about what happened after that shift. Things that used to just work now need an app, a login, and a monthly fee to do the same job they did for free.

Radio is where it started. First AM/FM radio at five, hooked for good on Tampa's WFLZ during the Power Pig era, then a first paid gig in La Crosse doing programming, on-air, and board op. Now I'm a broadcast network engineer for a group of public media stations.

Just one guy who grew up on dial-up and AM/FM static, thinking out loud about what's worth holding onto before it slips away completely.
